You can check the hotel availability calendars and they will show the prices for the rooms during the time frame you are interested in.

January was cheap. Cost us 523 each for 7 nights, Aladdin Hotel, direct flights with Virgin (through Expedia and we did get a free upgrade at check-in)

The summer months should be fairly cheap also because of the heat. I've seen in other posts that many of the hotels such as Tropicana, Excalibur, etc run specials in the summer.

Just remember though, it can get to 120 degrees F easily in Vegas...whew!

We went during Thanksgiving in 2004 (Wed and Thurs night) and we paid $69 for a room at Treasure Island, which included a whole host of goodies like a dining credit and free upgrade to a higher floor. The temperature was perfect.

Around December 12ish until Christmas is always cheap, not crowded. Drawback is lots of stuff is closed for refurbishing, and some of the shows go on their vacation.

I also found making reservations SUN-THURS in June was as cheap as Dec.

Summer months, especially July and August do have lower rates. But there is a reason for that. It's HOT here in Vegas. But never, ever, ever has it been 120 degrees here. Highest temperature of all time here in Las Vegas was 117 according to the National Weather Service. Now, if you put a thermometer in your rental car and leave the car in the sun with the windows rolled up, the thrmometer, if not broken by then, will show a temperature of 140 degrees or so. DON'T leave a kid or pets in a parked car in Vegas.
