Xmas in Vegas Excalibur Mirage MGM Treasure Island Mandalay?

Hello, it will be our first time in Las Vegas, travelling with a 4 year old. All of the hotels listed are within our price range. Excalibur, Mirage, MGM, Treasure Island, Mandalay. Looking for a central location, heated pool, nice room, close to kids activities (we'd like to do the tournament of kings at excalibur) Thank you very much!

Can I ask why you would want to experience Vegas for the first time with a 4 year old?

If I had a 4 year old I would not dream of going to Vegas, especially with the weed heads in smoking heaven now everywhere.

But if you do....

Excalibur

Mirage

Thanks Steven. We have quite some limitation in terms of destination this year and Vegas seems to please everyone. Plus I read it in many places that it can be surprisingly kid friendly. I do not plan to bring the kid to the casino.

Vegas started it's kid friendly push in the early to mid 90s, but I would say it's less friendly for kids now then at the height of the kid movement. That young of a child going to Vegas reminds me of ordering a cheese burger at a Chinese restaurant. Yes they have one, but is it going to be good?

Sounds like your party is more than just you 3. One time I was In Vegas with a child that age and it reminded me of who is going to be a designated driver on a drinking night.

I wish you the best and bring a Midwest style winter jacket.

If you are looking for a central location, Mirage is it. However Mandalay Bay is the best option. Nicest, largest, and newest rooms, potential amazing views. The hotel has Shark Reef which is great for kids. It is connected by indoor corridor and free tram to Luxor and Excalibur which will be a plus for you. Plus, South Strip is more family friendly. By this I mean no porn slappers, CD peddlers, bums.

The last time that we stayed at the MGM Grand they had at least one pool open in December. But we have gone to Vegas every December since 2006 and, even coming from Toronto, I can only recall two days that it was warm enough that we had wished that we brought bathing suits.

Can't believe Mandalay Bay and Treasure Island are anywhere near the same price range.

in terms of price Excalibur is a bit lower but all the others mentioned are very similar. Would you say that Mandalay Bay and TI are a tier above the rest? Seems like Mandalay Bay is getting the most vote.

TI is two tiers above Excalibur. Mandalay is two tiers above TI. MGM is slightly below Mandalay.

I did that has a child and no it wasn't good. Wouldn't San Diego, with Legoland and other attractions, make more sense?

Not many heated pools. Even heated in Dec is very chilly.

Nice rooms Mandalay and the best of those mentioned. With MGM #2.

TI is then other end. Some like the rooms with a view. Fashion Show Mall nest to TI

None mentioned are Central. You would need to look at Paris, Bally's, CP, Bellagio area.

I agree as to less porn slappers by Mandalay and Luxor.

The Shark Reef is not free.
