I'm not sure when the official end ot ski season is over. I believe it is resort dependant. I have skied at Squaw in May. Several times at Heavenly in April. They do start closing down lifts as the activity - and snow cover - dwindles. At Heavenly, they will close down Stagecoach Lodge (Nevada entrance) well before the California Lodge. But this happens in April.

You will be safe to ski in late March.

Ski season ends the last weekend in April unless there is no snow. Even if there is plenty of snow the insurance plans for most resorts take them through April. This year they all could have gone longer due to the snow pack but boo hoo all but Squaw Valley closed. Squaw stays open the longest in Tahoe. Mammoth stays open the longest in CA.
