First Time to Tahoe-need tips

Coming the last week of August.

Best scenic drive around the lake ?

What will the weather be like ? Jeans ok ?

Staying at Harveys. Best tower to be in ?

Do they do free upgrades ?

going to do the Gondola at Heavenly & MS Dixie, discount coupons?

Is carson & Virginia City worth seeing ?

We will be sightseeing tourists in the daytime and hitting the casinos at night. All tips are appreciated.

thank you

Hello;

Hope that you have a great stay in Lake Tahoe when you get into town.

1. Best drive.. Yest drive the entire lake. This will take you a few hours (as you will want to stop along the way) Head on down hwy 50 to hwy 89 towards emerald bay. The views will knock your socks off.

2. Jeans are good to go at the end of the month. During the day you can get away with shorts as we do have some hot days still left in us at the lake. Nights are starting to cool down (40's) but the days average around 75-80

3. Harveys and the best tower! Hmmm well I dont stay at Harveys since I live in Lake Tahoe! cant help with that. But I can tell you! if you are not happy with your room, they will change it.

4. The gondola and MS dixie all have coupons around town! Any hotel or resturant will have discount coupons laying around... Bring the cam when you hit the first deck off the gondola! nothing like being 2 miles up to see the views....

5. Nothing really in Carson to see.. Unless you want to hit some of the casinos in that area. V. City is old west.. Lots of history and lots of old time shops! pretty fun and I would spend a few hours out that way if you get the chance.

Have a great trip

best drive?

in my opinion that would be rt. 29 to incline village and then on to

mt. rose (high peak) ...the view is spectacular!

jeans? nights are chilly...jeans and a sweater or sweatshirt.

days are cooling down too., but jeans, capris, or shorts

and a tee will probably be ok

gondola at heavenly? wow.....that trip is NOT to be missed!

w/or w/o discount coupons...don't miss it.

carson/v.c? nothing to see.

emerald bay is worth the trip.

and white water rafting on the truckee

river is a fun and thrilling 1/2 day trip....you'll get to see the north end of the lake heading out to the truckee river and there are more private residences at that end of the lake than south tahoe.

there's a great little shoppe on the main road into tahoe. its a christmas shoppe, but has so much more to offer. and...she can

customize almost anything to make it that much more special.

we purchased tons of stuff there and had it shipped to our home

address so we didn't have to worry about flying back with extra

baggage.

our son was married at edgewood cc on the lake...and the

restaurant there is probably one of the best in tahoe.....

skip the seafood buffet at harveys. not worth the price.....very

usual fare and mostly mediocre( at best )in taste.

all in all we loved tahoe....i could live there tomorrow and be a happy chick! enjoy your trip!
