Tahoe in Late May w/2 teenagers

Your suggestion for activities in late May with 2 teenagers? We're staying in Incline Village but will travel to Tahoe.

What does that mean? Incline villag is at Tahoe. Do you mean south shore or Tahoe City?

Do they like hiking? What interests do your teens have?

What I meant is that we aren't staying right in Tahoe. My kids are more into team sports and would do about anything. However, I know we tried to take them "hiking" before and they were "bored". Typical teenagers.

Kare Bear,

Suzie is telling you that Incline Village is in Lake Tahoe. It's on the North Shore so I'm also not sure what you mean by you're not staying right in Tahoe. I'm assuming you mean not in South Shore at Stateline.

Anyway, late May and if they don't like the outdoors, they might be bored out of their mind especially at Incline. My teenagers don't like Tahoe that much unless in the winter although my wife and I love it.

You could try the beaches but still chilly to get in the water. Maybe take the paddlewheeler but not sure the teens would like.

Reno is about 45 minutes from Incline. Some malls and movie theaters.

Good luck!

KareBear,

Incline Village is a town on the north shore of the Lake. It is on the Nevada side and the beaches there are quite beautiful. Sand Harbor is a short drive and is a very nice beach. May is an iffy month as the weather is unpredictable. Many years we go for Mother's Day weekend so I can get some relief from the hay fever in the valley. On those weekends the weather has been fantastic and we have spent the day at Meeks Bay Resort with dinner at Sunnyside Resort. These are on the west side.

I have stayed at the Hyatt at Incline during the summer and we took the catamaran sail offerred by the Hyatt. It was terrific. I don't know if it would be offered in May. Our kids really enoyed it.

Incline is really upscale compared to other parts of the lake. The homes down near the beach are incredible.

There is a movie Theater in Incline Village for those cold evenings when not much is going on.

Your teens and you too, may enjoy taking an ATV tour. Here's one link but others may have better recommendations for that specifically:

You could rent bikes and ride the lake side bike path or even take some mountain biking trails. Here's a link for a good ride:

There are many good easy hikes. I like the one to Cascade Falls. Here's a link for lots of hikes the info for cascade is on the west shore:

More?

I'm still trying to understand your point about not being in Tahoe. I am going to assume you are meaning to say you are not staying at South Lake Tahoe or Tahoe City. Anyone you tell that you are staying in Incline will assume you are staying at the lake. You will not need to travel to get to the lake.

You are correct in me saying I'm not staying in SOUTH Lake Tahoe near Heavenly, casinos, etc. I know it's not too long a drive to get wherever I want to go around the lake, but wanted to give you a general idea of where we'll be staying.

All good suggestions and I'll look into what's offered in late May.

Thanks for your suggestions! :)

Hope your not staying at the Hyatt because that place is seriously overpriced for the overall quality of the property. It is one of the lower quality Hyatts I have ever stayed in.

No. We're actually staying in Incline in some condos. I can't remember the name of the place but my sister in law lives in Incline and she went to check them out for us. For the end of May we're paying $145/night for a 2 bedroom condo. They are just across or near the 7-11 if that helps! LOL
