Need Planning Help!!

I have been asked by a close friend to plan a suprise trip to tahoe for him, his wife and us and another couple. Help! I've never been and don't want to screw this up. We will be going the first weekend in March 06. So this is what I'm looking for:

Great View

Good Spa Facilities

Dining options

Access to gambling

Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated!

Tahoe's a great place. Have you been there before?

Below are the top hotel/casino choices in South Shore (Stateline) all of which are right next to each other and a five minute walk tops. Casual to fine dining choices. Views vary depending on Mountain or Lake view and how high up you are. Can't comment much on the spas. Caesars has a nice indoor pool and hottub. Harvey's is outside

Harrahs, Harveys, Caesars, Horizon. Harrahs and Harveys are the best in my opinion. If you go for the more premium rooms you will be very happy. I've never stayed in the Horizon, but would not recommend it.

Right across the stateline is a very nice Embassy Suites and a Marriott Vacation Lodge.

There are some other places closer to the lake but further from the casinos. Depends what you want.

At North Shore, the choices are more limited, but there is a Hyatt there

There will still be snow on the ground then and it does snow also that time of year. I'd recommend you fly to Reno. They have a shuttle bus to Tahoe if you don't want to drive. It's about an hour or so drive depending on weather. You can rent cars at one of the hotels.

Ride the Heavenly tram even if you don't ski. It's a couple blocks from the casinos. The four person tram is enclosed and spectacular views of the lake

Let me know if you have more specific questions and I'd be happy to help
