Hikes and/or Beach near Stagecoach/Boulder Heavenly Lodges?

Hello! My extended family is going to be staying at a house in Tahoe this weekend very close to the Stagecoach/Boulder Heavenly lodges. We have 4 fairly little kids, but the youngest can go in hiking backpacks.

Are there any fairly easy/short hikes in that immediate area you would recommend?

It looks like the closest beach is Nevada beach. I've read in general that beaches in Tahoe this Summer are small b/c of the high water level. Is Nevada beach currently smaller than normal/therefore super packed on a Saturday? We'd probably get there earlyish (9:30?). Other close beaches you would recommend more?

We still have nap schedules to contend w/ so trying to avoid TOO long of a drive for either unless it's worth it. The Weekend Sherpa just sent something out about Spooner Lake which sounds intriguing for a hike. It's a 20+ minute drive though, trying to see if there's something closer.

Thank you!

If you decide to go that way, the Spooner Lake loop is fairly flat and very scenic. The trail is shaded in plenty of spots. There are restrooms in the parking lot. Parking is about $10. It's a pretty good one for kids. Suggest some bug spray as you are near the water.

Afterwards, you could continue another 15 minutes to Sand Harbor to spend the rest of the day. There are sandy beaches, food, picnic tables and beautiful water. The down side is another parking fee.
