Not all of the shops have closed. But, a lot of the area has been hit hard due to the recession. Lake Las Vegas is so far away from the Strip that people don't really travel up there. There a couple restaurants and a handful of stores still open out there, but hoenstly it is pretty boring. There isn't even really a nice place to relax and enjoy the views. I would really consider staying somewhere closer to Vegas itself. You would definitely need a car because spending more than a day out there would get really boring.

Casino is open. Some shops and restaurants. Sunset & Vine is the busiest restaurant but they only like people that are dressed really nice or celebrities.

You can sit outside right by the water. Expect attitude.

You're so far away from action at LLV! It should have been a great destination spot but.....bad timing for them! Maybe it will come back -- but not for several years. Yes -- a few things are still open -- but it's really not worth the trip. Guessing you have a rental car -- so stay somewhere other than the main Strip -- Green Valley Ranch -- Southpoint (no one ever mentions that....rooms are fine and price point is great) -- one of the hotels/motels on St.Rose Pkwy. If you're driving, you don't need to be in a Strip hotel -- you'll save a lot of $$$$ and you'll be able to check out off-Strip eateries.
