I know most people go to Las Vegas to gamble or visit the Strip. But to us, Las Vegas is just an airport that we are flying in/out of while we visit the National Parks with our child. After days of hiking and sight seeing, we had hoped to spend the last 2 days of our vacation relaxing by a pool. I was looking for a non-casino hotel and thought the Lake Las Vegas area with their beach and lake would be fun for our 11 year old.
I was looking at the Ravella which is opening in the location of the former Ritz Carolton or the Loew's. Any thoughts on the location of these 2 properties? I know the area has become a "ghost town", but is anything (shopping, dining, etc) still open?
