Vacation to Yellowstone

We are planning a trip to Yellowstone/Grand Tetons at the end of July. Any recommendations for lodging in West Yellowstone and Jackson? We are staying for three nights in West Yellowstone and two nights in Jackson.

Hi Elizabeth- Can you tell me more of what you are looking for? Do you have a family (small or large)? Do you need something with a lot of amenities for kids or would you prefer a more something, quieter and more rustic...like a cabin?

Hi Elizabeth,

Their are lots of places for lodging in both areas. If you are looking for a motel their are several in West Yellowstone with big variety in cost and quality. The Three Bear Lodge is one of my favorites in town. The rooms are nice, clean and you get lots of value for your dollar. Their are several chain motels in town also. You might check the Chamber web site at www.westyellowstonechamber.com for more motels. Their are also several homes and cabins to rent during the summer. For info on events/ things to do in the area check out www.seeyellowstone.com . Lots of helpful information there.

I have stayed at the Painted Buffalo Inn in Jackson Hole. Great location, nice and clean, very friendly. Their is also lots of other places around Jackson to stay. The Painted Buffalo Inn was close enough that we just walked over to the town square. Happy Travels!

Check out the 49er Inn and Suites in Jackson.

We stayed there for two nights last September and have no complaints.

Yellowstone fan: It is my husband and I. We are not really interested in places that are children havens. Any ideas?

Check out the Wort hotel in Jackson. Great location and very nice place. Have a burger at the Mangy Moose in Teton Village, and a beer at the Million Dollar Cowboy bar in Jackson.

A couple of thoughts for places to stay in West Yellowstone. Just outside of West Yellowstone, there is a guest ranch with a great new chef called the Bar N Ranch. The Hibernation Station in West Yellowstone also very nice individual cabins for couples. You can find more information on the WY Chamber site at westyellowstonechamber.com/lodging/index.htm. If you are looking for a hotel experience, several of the hotels in town have king rooms (some with jacuzzi tubs great after a long day of hiking) including Days Inn, Holiday Inn, Three Bear Lodge, and Clubhouse Inn.

Again you can check the Chamber or there is a central reservations service at 1-866-646-7077 that covers West Yellowstone and surrounding areas including Island Park, Idaho.

Just for fun you may want to take in the local rodeo in West (on weekends in July).

We just returned from our trip there. We stayed at Three Bear Lodge in West Yellowstone and were happy with our room. 2 Queen beds, TV, refrig, mirco. Room was clean and quiet. Outdoor heated pool and hot tubs. Free internet in lobby. Restaurant was good too. Includes free continental breakfast, or you can order from the menu.

In Jackson Hole, we stayed at Jackson Hole Lodge. Nice room, 2 Queen beds, TV. Walls were thin though and floor above us creaked when people walked. I would stay there again, but would request the 2nd floor. Heated indoor pool and hot tubs. Free internet in lobby. Walking distance to town square with restaurants and shops.

Both rooms were nice. The suites would be even nicer. The staff at both places were very nice, helpful.
