For the best beers on tap, visit Bullwinkle's. Be sure to have at least one Moose Drool.

Bullwinckle's (there is also a smaller Bullwinckle's right on Canyon - the main street). The Holiday Inn on Yellowstone Ave has the Oregon Shortline Bar. There is also a microbrewery called Wolf Pack Brewery on Canyon. It has some great beers but closes at 8 PM (MT law).

If you don't mind a drive, Eino's is located ten miles north of West, but it is more of a party place. We go there to sit on the deck which overlooks the lake and all the mountains. The other local place (which is also a party place) is called the Happy Hour bar. It is about 17 miles from town (ten miles north to 287 and then turn west). It is right on the lake and also has a deck. Beautiful sunsets.

Yellowstonefan - is the food good at Wolf Pack Brewery? They've never been open when we drive through, but I've always thought it looked like a good place for lunch. And why do they have to close at 8:00? Is it because they're a brewery?

Montana state law requires microbreweries to close early. We like their food (pasta, pizza, munchies) more of a california-type style.
