Confused about NYC to DF flights

Confused about NYC to DF flights

I'm looking into flights leaving early Feb for DF and shocked that the cheapest flights from NYC are about 460 dollars on American. Am I missing any airlines that don't appear on Kayak or Sidestep? It just seems like a lot of money when you can get to Guatemala City or Cancun for almost half the price.

Any help would be much appreciated!
