Where to stay when coming to see the Chiefs & Jayhawks

I will be coming to KC in late October to see the Jayhawks on the Saturday and the Chiefs on the Sunday.

Where is a good hotel to stay and what about tailgate parties?

Try the Drury Inn Kansas City Stadium on Blue Ridge Cutoff. It is much nicer that the Holiday Inn and Clarion hotels near the stadium. The Drury Inn is reasonably priced and is an excellent value. A continental breakfast with both hot and cold items is offered each morning and drinks/snacks served in the evening. The staff members are exceptionally friendly and the rooms are clean and well kept. Hope this helps.

Are you specifically wanting to stay by the Arrowhead Stadium? Depending on what you are wanting to do after the game might effect your decision. There really isn't anything of interest by the Stadiums.

The hotels by the kansas speedway are approx halfway between lawrence and arrowhead. If you are staying in Lawrence I would recommend the spring hill suites or eldridge. The rest of the hotels in town are pretty run down.

Thanks for your input, it is helpful. I think we want to stay close to somewhere we can find some entertainment in the evenings,

Both of the hotels I listed in Lawrence are downtown and in proximity to several bars. The legends in KC has lots of entertainment options. Ameristar Casino is close to downtown and arrowhead. The Amerisports is a great place to watch football.
