18th & Vine Jazz District

We will be traveling to KC this summer. Was wondering if this area is safe. We have not been in downtown KC before, but I know that some downtown in some cities are seedy. We'd like to go to the Jazz Museum.

The Zazz Mueseum is a fabulous place to see. The history of KC is second to none! Daytime is fine in this area. However, I would travel to the west (considered downtown)for lodging. The Sprint Center recently opened & I would recommend staying in that general area. The Paseo is not a good place to be after dark.

Hope this helps.

The 18th & Vine area is fine. It isn't really downtown to begin with.
