Tiger Sanctuary

Has anyone gone to the National Tiger Sanctuary north of Branson? My interest was piqued when the Branson Facebook page posted about it because my DD10 LOVES tigers. But I can't find any reviews on it. There is one here on TA but it is really old!

I'd like to know if it's a good place to go, which tour to take, etc.

There's also a cat sanctuary in Arkansas that my sister stayed at and just loved. She said the wild cats were right outside her room.

I haven't been to the one in Branson, but Cedar Cove, 25 miles south of Kansas City is great. http://www.kansastravel.org/cavecovecats.htm

I've been to the one here in Branson and, while i don't have anything to compare it to, it was very interesting. You can get up close to the cats (4-5 feet seperated by two high fences) and watch them eat & interact. They're all outdoors in spacious pens and very well cared for. The Sanctuary is described by the owners as like a rest home for big cats, meaning this is where they'll likely live out the rest of their lives. But they all appear to be healthly and happy. Tigers, a lion, black panther, mountain lion. Located about 11 miles north of Branson (just north of Saddlebrook) just west of Hwy 65.

I was there in November 2012. It's well worth the trip. Please look at my review I posted. These people take good care of the tigers and really care about them.
