Planning a trip, never been to Biloxi.

We are thinking of spending a few days in Biloxi gambling this summer. We have never been to that area, only Tunica and Vicksburg. Can someone give me some general information about Biloxi.

Do all the casinos have hotels? Are they on the beach? How are the casinos in comparison in size to Tunica? How big is Biloxi? How is the gaming compared to Shreveport.

Thanks for any info I can get to help plan this trip.

I haven't been elsewhere to those other places so I can't help you with comparisons. I can tell you that of the eight or so casinos open in Biloxi/Gulfport, only one (Boomtown) lacks a hotel. Isle of Capri and Beau Rivage are on the beachfront, however the beach has not yet fully recovered from the effects of the hurricane. Other casinos offer views of the bay.

Biloxi itself is a small city that runs along an east-west axis. You can get from one end to the other in about 20 minutes by car, but going north-south it would take you 5 minutes.

I found the gaming in Biloxi to be good, with low table limits, friendly dealers, and a fun and relaxed atmosphere. In that respect, it compares favorably with other casino destinations I have been to. However, outside the casinos there is very little to do, although I'm sure that will change as more and more of the city bounces back from the hurricane.

Hoep you have a nice trip!
