The earliest it has ever snowed in Minneapolis since I've been living here (20 years) is September, but the snow all melted before the end of the day. While we do get snow in October (the famous Halloween snow storm of 1991 comes to mind), it rarely amounts to anything. November is almost always the month when we get our first snowfall of any consequence. Interestingly enough, March has the highest average snowfall of any month. Here is a link to weather information for Minneapolis. Scroll down for the snow info:

Hope that helps.

I think Rocco is right on.

There have been several years recently in which we didn't have snow until Christmas.

The smart plan is to not plan on it being a certain condition in NOvember. Because whatever you plan for, it will be the opposite. That's how weather in this state works!!

And welcome to Minneapolis!

3. Re: weather

They're both right (though I think that January is now statistically the snowiest month). Don't really plan on any specific weather conditions in November, so take these with a grain of salt:

Average High: 42F (6C)

Average Low: 25F (-4C)

Average Precipitation: 1.94 in. (49.3 mm)

Average Snowfall: 7.9 in. (20 cm)

One thing that I know for sure is that November is the cloudiest month of the year.
