new years eve

we are a family of 5 adults and 4 children that would like to come for new years eve and wondering where we would have the most fun with the grand children. Would like a place where the pool doesnt close before at least 11 . We would like a place kid friendly and maybe (pet small dog) but doesnt have to be, SWould of like the great lodge but believe it to be to expensive as we will be paying for the rooms and all wouldnt fit in one room/ so seemed to run close to 900; for the night, any suggestions out there? thank you

Not sure what area in Michigan you are interested in but the Best Western Sterling Inn in Sterling Heights is hosting a "New Years Eve Splash Bash" for families. You can view the flyer at sterlinginn.com/Special%20Events/…2006.pdf

Also the Avalanche Bay Indoor Waterpark at the Mountain Grand Lodge in Boyne is also hosting a family New Years eve celebration until 1am. Check it out at http://www.avalanchebay.com/specials.asp. The lodge itself is pricey to stay at but you could also look into staying at the very nearby condos offered through http://www.bluegreenrentals.com/.

The Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City is hosting their Snowball festival that evening for familes. They also have a huge indoor waterpark. greatwolflodge.com/Locations/…index.aspx

Without too much regard for price, you could check out the Marriott Courtyard - convenient with a nice pool and some larger rooms, the Baymont - with some suites & pool, or the Park Place - downtown, nice pool and you can stroll downtown TC. Of course, if you all ski, you can check out Crystal Mountain - about 30 minutes from TC with pool and all the ski resort stuff. Don't know about the dog. The Great Wolf Lodge is somewhat pricey, but it is definitely a kid friendly place w/ pool, game room, etc. Also, a very friendly kid-type ski resort is "The Homestead", near Glen Arbor on the Leelanau Peninsula... tubing, skating, skiing (downhill and XC) w/ onsite dining/bar.
