Northshore Inn

Can anyone tell me about this Inn? Good, Bad.

Also is there any restaurant's, bars in walking distance?

Is there a grocery store near by?

We are going to mainly relax and hit a bar or two...

Thanks !!!

I've no personal experience, but it looks just fine.. as for grocery and bars - there's a nearby party store and a couple of bars... but you're only a couple of miles from downtown TC... nothing will seem "too far" for you. Now, the restaurants will be mostly chains... except for Don's Burgers, Red Mesa and the Bayview Inn (w/ bar & a decent pizza)... otherwise hit downtown.

We haven't been there yet, but friends of ours really enjoy staying there.

I just got back from staying at the North Shore. The room was very nice and clean. We had 1 bedroom and a living area, dining area, and small kitchen area. The shower in the bathroom was tiny though. We did not have a room with a view. Make sure you get a room with a balcony view, it will be much better. The pool looked clean. The beach area was nice. We drove to dinner. We like the Apache Trout Grill so much we went there 2 nights. Have fun!

We stayed there in July 2006 and thought it was a great place. (see my write-up at http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g42758-d258360-r5908374-North_Shore_Inn-Traverse_City_Michigan.html) We stayed in a one-bedroom unit on the second floor with our nine- and seven-year old boys. They loved it!

We liked it well enough that we're going back there this year.

If I recall correctly, there is a grocery store about a mile west of the inn. We stocked up on breakfast, lunch, and snack foods.

I know this is a smoke free building. Does anyone know if there are designated smoking area's? Maybe on our balcony or off the property.

Thanks again !!!
