Sault Ste Marie restaurants/must see things

We'll be in SSM for a couple of days after Mackinac Island. What are some good restaurants & 'must see' things to do?

We were just in the Soo this past weekend visiting our son. We had burgers and onion rings at the West Pier Drive-In. Little gray building along the shipping canal. Small area to dine in, but eat in your car with the food being served by car hops. Only open in the summer. 601 W. Portage Ave. Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783

Very good 1/2 pound burgers with all the toppings. My husband and I could have shared one. The onions rings were great and we saw them bring out crinkle cut fries and are having those next time. We shared an order of onion rings and had some left.

Couldn't believe how busy this place was.

Canada. Use your credit cards and you don't even need to change money unless you choose to. Take along your passport if you are thinking about doing it.

Instead of taking a Locks boat tour, take a St. Mary's River lighthouse cruise. It includes the locks. www.soolocks.com/lighthouse-cruises.phtml

Another good drive-in is Clydes, which is next to the Sugar Island Ferry. You can watch the ferry and nearby freighters while you eat.

Also visit the Antler's for steaks or a 10 ounce Paul Bunyan Burger. The bar and grill is filled with hundreds of stuffed animals, birds and fish.

Day trip to Whitefish Point with the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum and nearby Tahquamenon Falls.

Their are casinos in both the US and American Soos.
