4th of July

We are considering driving in to Saugatuck from our lake house about 20 miles away for fireworks this year on the 4th of July.

Is there a better place to watch the fireworks?

What time do we need to get there to get a good spot?

Do any of the restaurants/bars take reservations so you can watch from the deck?

Thanks!

A hassle free option would be to park in Douglas near the Kalamazoo River bridge and watch the fireworks from the bridge. If you want to be in the thick of it, try Coghlin Park or Cook Park in downtown Saugatuck...it will be wall to wall people so get there by 8 pm. Restaurants will be a zoo, not sure about reservations. The only spot where you would have a good view would be the deck of The Butler Restaurant. My suggestion would be find a spot to spread out and get carry-out...pizza from Marro's or Scooter's or ribs/BBQ from Monroes or The Hickory Pit and enjoy the show!
