A day for color and casino - need advise

Hi all,

My boyfriend and I will be heading up to St. Ignace from the Flint area on Friday, September 26. We hope to see some color on our way up as well as around the area, and also spend some time at the casino. We are heading over to the island to stay for the rest of the weekend. Where is the best place to stay in St. Ignace that is reasonable and close to the casino? Suggestions for good, cheap eats too. Thanks.

Kewadin Lakefront Inn is a bit rough around the edges but clean and a good value. They sometimes have good casino packages.

LHLT,

Thanks, I am assuming that there is no longer a casino at the location, so you're saying they give packages for the new "shores" casino. What do you think of the Budget Host, I found a 15% discount coupon on the main website for St Ignace?

The Shores is a few feet from the old casino, but there was never a casino at Kewadin Lakefront Inn. It is a 3 or 4 minute drive away, closer to town.

Sorry, but I can't give any advice on the Budget Host.

We really enjoy the Budget Host. I posted a review after our last stay. Very clean, pet friendly, nice pool with huge whirlpool. We always stay in a 2 room suite. They improved their breakfast, with more selections. We have stayed there 4 times in the past 3 years and hope to also come up this weekend.

Short drive to the casino, and you are able to walk to town (downhill to town, hill back to the motel).
