Hike from Jomosom to Muktinath

Hi,

We want to fly from Pohkara to Jomosom, hike to Muktinath and back, and then fly back from Jomosom to Pohkara, the second week of August. We figure this will take four days. Is this a crazy thing to be planning to do in monsoon season? How likely is the the planes will be postponed - daily, several days in a row? Thanks!

Hi Again,

No the plan you are making is really great.

You can try this:

Day 01: Pokhara to Jomsom and then trek to Kagbeni

Day 02: Kagbeni to Muktinath

Day 03: Muktinath to Jomsom

Day 04: Fly to Pokhara early morning

Sometimes the place will be postponed but normally they will have at least 1/2 flights each days. But it's not sure too because sometimes the flight cancels for 1 week or more. It depends on the weather condition. It's not possible to operate flights during the day because it's very windy in Jomsom.

Dear SusieQcan/

it is indid a lovely plan you have made , depends how you wanna do it

once you arrive jomsom , all the pokhara jomsom flights are operating

in the morning only so if you really looking to hike do it it is super beautiful

just awesome. if you wanna escape walking get the jeep ride one way & walk down on your way back.. please do not miss the ancient town kagbeni really wonderful village. if you do this way as per my advice you could be manage to do it on 2 Nights & 3Rd day back to Pokhara.

tips : Day one Early Moring flight to Jomsom Jeep to Muktinath

Day Two Muktinath HIke down Via Kagbeni & Over night @ Jomsom

Day Three Jomsom Pokhara.

Please Note Keep your spare 2 / 3 Days as this time of the Year this route flight get easily get cancelled for a Day / Two. Please don`t forget two types of permits to enter this area 1 * ACAP permit $ 2000 NPR TIMS $ 20.

I guess second week of August is the end of Monsoon in Nepal. Therefore, if you are lucky enough I dont think that your plane schedule would be change.
