Nice weekend :)

just back from a very nice weekend in Mackinac Island. Stayed at the Metivier Inn, very good place (see review). Inn was on Market St, one block from Main St. Ate at Pink Pony (disappointing food and service), Woods (loved it), and MAry's Bistro (good food, nice view). Rode baikes for about 5 hours on Saturday (ok..maybe stopped for a couple "pops". Question, how do you ride for hours and it always be uphill?????? Anyway, a great weekend as always on the island.

And against the wind--no matter which direction you're headed. It is a biking mystery to me how these things can be true.

Too bad about Pink Pony. It has always been our fav, by name alone when you come to the island with a little girl!

Two things about the biking. 1)Plan one whole day to be on the interior of the Island, not as many hills. 2)Go up to Fort Holmes then come down the back of the island to British Landing. You are going to downhill for about 4 miles and have to peddle maybe twice. So much fun! Makes all the uphill worth it!

Thanks for the trip report! Happy you had a great time.

socrog, wasn't Sunday beautiful? We almost ate the the Pink Pony, but decided against it, also considered Mary's ended up at the Carriage House, lovely view and restaurant and good meal. But more expensive than the other restaurants. We saw those hills and figured we'd just walk, I give you credit.
