From Sweden to Grand Rapids

Hi,

I'm coming over from Sweden to live in Grand Rapids for working purposes. Does anyone have any sugestions where to live? Preferably in a down town environment. Is the whole down town area nice to live in or are there parts one should avoid?

Thanx

Ola

Hola Ola, Welcome to the US, and the west side of Michigan. Which is one of the prettest areas of Michigan. Not having been in GR (Grand Rapids) in awhile not sure of how the downtown area is thriving. There are bad areas in all US cities and GR is no different. An option you might consider on Lake Michigan. Be sure to visit YesterDog when you get in town, for the worlds best hot dog. Again welcome and enjoy your visit.

There are all types of new housing in Downtown Grand Rapids. Many new loft developments. The traditional housing downtown is on Heritage Hill where there are neigbhorhoods of Victorian Homes. Not sure which website to recommend for housing, but I am sure you will be happy there.
