Supplies

We will be staying at a cottage in East Sandwich on Salt Marsh road in late august.

Can anyone recommend a place to get grocery, and a good wine store? Oh, and fresh seafood! :)

thanks!

There's a Stop & Shop at the corner of Quaker Meeting House Road and Cotuit that looks like a straight shot for you. Stop & Shop has seafood, but I'm pretty certain that is not what you had in mind. There is also a liquor store on that corner.

If the Stop and Shop is anything like the one in Orleans then it is a perfectly good place to get fresh seafood.

There's a famous fish market at the Marina. I just can't think of the name of it, something simple like ...Joes. You could call the Aqua Grill -508-888-8889 - and ask them or just drive over.

When you are looking for waterfront dining you might try www.lobstertrap.net in Bourne since the waterfront dining in Sandwich (Hemisphere) is better for drinks and the view than dining.

Have fun!

There are farmers' markets here in Sandwich where you'll find lobsters, (from Salty Lou's, a local fisherman who also sells from his house on Route 6A www.SaltyLous.com) , great meat from a farm off Cape, breads, cheeses, fresh veggies and fruits, and even wine:) .

The market runs from 8-1 on Tuesdays across from the fish hatchery on Route 6A and also on Wednesday's on Quaker Meeting House across from the Stop and Shop in South Sandwich.

Crow Farm on Route 6A sells fresh veggies and peaches, eggs, some pies, and breads and is always a great place to stop.

The Brown Jug, on Main Street, is a great place to buy wine, but there are also several others in town (guess we're big boozers here in Sandwich) so you won't have problems finding a decent bottle.

Joe's is the local seafood market and has a lot of variety.

Stop and Shop- good for basics- but make sure to stop at Trader Joe's in Hyannis, too.

And if you're looking for sweets, try Cafe Chew in Merchant Square- great in house pastries..
