Dennisport

We booked 2 nights at the "By the Sea" B&B in Dennisport on the Nantucket Sound. There are no reviews since 2005. Is it still a good place? Also, anyone have suggestions for places to eat? local type places are always great! We will have a car so we can go anywhere.

Also, we will be on the Cape for 2 days. We are planning to rent bikes and ride the trail and also see the Kennedy museum....any other must sees?

Thanks!

I haven't stayed here but looked very seriously at By the Sea

It is right on the water -so there is no streets to cross. I have walked by it both from the street and water side and it looks fine . Cape Cod Charlie gave you great ideas on your first posting - you can't miss with any of them . Have a great time

For casulal dining I recommend Kream n Kone, at the intersections of Rte 134 & Rte 28. VERY good fried seafood and huge portions that's great to share with the whole family. It also has burgers, and chicken fingers and ice cream. Wee-Packet is a good choice too. In Chatham the pizza parlor Carmine's is a favorite of ours, and George's in Harwich I think it is in Harwich or Dennis. For a step up to a nicer place, we found Clancy's a nice change, and for fine dining The Ebb Tide, Ocean House and Scargo Cafe. Spendier ones, but good food, good service and nice atmosphere.

A fun place to go is the Chatham Lighthouse. It is an operating Coast Guard facility and has an awesome view of the Chatham shore. The fish pier is right there too, and if you time it to go in the afternoon you can watch the local fishermen coming in with their catch and how it is unloaded etc.

Hi Soccergirl31,

There are so many things to do on the Cape and two places where you can receive plenty of input depending on what you are looking for will be at By the Sea and also the Dennis Information Center. You'll be arriving on the Cape on Rt. 6. Your exit is 9A. You'll travel south to Rt. 28. At the SE corner (just south of Kreme n Kone) you'll see a little white house labeled INFORMATION. Ask questions and pick up all their materials. You'll have a great time.

Thanks for all of the help! We just returned from our trip to Cape Cod and loved it! It was wonderful! We ate at Bob's sandwiches in Dennisport, Captain Frosty's in Dennis, Box lunch in Hyannis and Ebb Tide in Dennisport. Of course, Sundae School for dessert. They were all fantastic! Our B&B, "By the Sea" was fantastic! The weather was great too while we were there. We did not get to see all of CC, but will make it a point to see Provincetown the next time we go.

Thanks for all of the advice! You all are lucky to live there...absolutely gorgeous. The only place we could not find was the Scargo Tower, none of the maps were very specific. We will try to find it next time.

Thanks Soccergirl for giving your post vacation feedback. No, you can't do it all in one trip. We have been going for over a decade and we still haven't made it to Sandy Neck beach, Joe's Grill and so many other places to see and experience. Oh well....guess you just have to return ;-))

Soccergirl.... thinking about "by the sea" ourselves. Can you give us more info? Which room you stayed in and how was the local surroundings? We are looking at one of the suites.

Thank you!
