A restaurant where old riend scould catch up

I was part of a team working on an international project back in the late '90s. One of our colleagues from the UK will be in the DC area the end of this month and has asked to get together with some of us still in the area and me coming in from WV. One of us has suggested Addie's, but I'm not sure it's the type of place where we could have some pleasant catching up conversation without having to yell or feel like the next table is part of our group. Any ideas for a good restaurant in the Rockville area that is quiet enough to enjoy catching up and not be rushed out of the place?

A pub/bar would be better than a restaurant. A better location would be in Bethesda, just south of Rockville. My person fav is

but just around the corner is

http://www.unionjacksbethesda.com/

And if that isn't enough, 1.5 blocks away is

Try all three

I'll second bethesda. I like Mussel Bar. Great mussels and beer selection.

Closer to Rockville and in an office-area setting, but good and quiet (at least when we were there a couple years back): Thai Farm, off King Farm Road near I-270 exit 8.

In Bethesda, if you want quiet, unhurried, and a good value, I'd suggest Cesco. If you want fairly quiet, very much unhurried, and I'll hold my tongue on value, Bistro Provence.

You could also consider Matchbox or Chef Geoff's in Rockville. Both would likely be good for drinks and catching up.

Thanks to all who replied. Unfortunately, I was outvoted and we did end up at Addie's. It was tight and so noisy that when the waiter attempted to tell us about the evenings Specials, we couldn't even hear him. However, the food was pretty good for the most part, they didn't rush us out and eventually the crowd thinned out enough that the noise level became tolerable. $$$ though.
