Maryland is a beautiful state, and this wonderful county is one of the reasons. I'm from suburban washington, dc, and was raised in the midwest. Went to camp at elk neck state park, near Northeast. Northeast is a charming, quaint funky little town. Elkton is bigger, but everything you could need is on U.S. 40, which runs nearby. Chesapeake city is a historic site on the C and D [Chesapeake and Delaware] Canal. Learned for the first time that there is an active canal that connects the northern end of the Chesapeake Bay to the Delaware Bay, and tugs guiding huge freighters thru it, who enter theCB at Norfolk , Va and go inland all the way to Philadelphia on the Del. Bay. Amazing!!
Plenty of good golf around. Elk Neck Stae Park, on the Northern tip of the CB is beautiful and has very nice facilities..plenty of electric hook up sites. Lots of bed and breakfasts i think around this area. And, it is only 1 hour from south Jersey beaches and atlantic city, 1 hour from Rehobeth beach in delaware, 1 hour from downtown baltimore, one hour from philadelphia. It is a great area
