My husband and I are planning a trip to Camden the last week in August. Just wondering about the weather at that time of the year. Is fog something to be concerned about? Of course, we are hoping for some clear sunny days during our stay. We would appreciate any information on the weather.

Spent the first 7 days of September at Camden in 2009 and the weather was fantastic every day. Well into the 70 degrees, light winds and no fog
It could have rained every day and we would still have enjoyed every minute of this wonderful part of the world
Abigails Inn, Acadia National park and a day out with Don Kleiner at Maine outdoors (oops a blatant plug there..sorry)

Thanks for your reply! Camden looks absolutely beautiful and relaxing. We plan to explore the area. Cadillac Mountain, Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are definitely on our list of must sees. We had read fog in August is likely. Since we are planning to travel in late August, perhaps it will not be an issue. You are right about enjoying our travels, regardless of the weather. Thanks for your recommendations!

There is what amounts to a perpetual fog bank out in the Atlantic. Whether it moves close enough to affect Mount Desert Island, etc., depends on the weather/wind patterns. Ya never know...
