Hotel Suggestions Needed

My sister and I are going to be in Lexington next month to participate in the Heart Association Heart Walk which starts at the UK Commonwealth Stadium. I was hoping for some hotel suggestions for us to get a good nights rest and that is near a good variety of restaurants for dinner that night.

Restaurant suggestions would also be most welcome!

Thanks!

I was waiting for someone from Lex to chime in, but I'll get the ball rolling.

We really enjoy The Gratz Park Inn. Small, charming hotel. It has its own very nice restaurant (Jonathan's) and it's close to a number of downtown eateries and pubs like Cheapside Bar & Grill, Alfalfa, A la Lucie, de Sha's etc.

Hyatt downtown and Hilton downtown are both walk able to good dining as well. The Gratz Park is definitely my favorite though. All are in downtown and near campus. For dining, I would be also inclined to suggest:

Table 310

Dudley's

Doodles for breakfast

Even if you don't stay at the Gratz Park Inn, Jonathan's restaurant there is very good and they also have a great brunch.

There is a trolley that runs in the evenings through downtown and is free and makes University of Kentucky campus as well as places a little further away reachable as well. Grey Goose or Nick Ryan's are both a trolley ride away as well as Joe Bologna's which is more casual.
