South Bend hotel near ND or vicinity

My husband and I are making a trip to ND October 11-13th.

He has been a fan since he was very young and has always wanted to visit the ND campus. People say that it is just a different experience being there. We know we will probably never get to a game but he still wants to go to see the campus. Figuring during the week would be the best time.

Can someone tell me what nice hotels are in the general area that would be close to ND but also have access to local restaurants and bars.

Thanks so much.

Thanks. I will also check that hotel. Most have been up around $100 and more, which surprised me since it is during the week. and not around a game.

What about Elkhart? My husband said he was told that there might be some better prices there? How far from ND?

Ekhart is only a 20-25 minute drive from the Notre Dame campus. Room rates can also be expensive on ND football weekends, but they are a bit cheaper than hotels in South Bend/Mishawaka.

Sorry, I've never stayed in Elkhart, but I did secure a reservation at a Signature Inn there that I sold to another football fan.
