Restaurant for 50 Anniversary Dinner

We're looking for a nice restaurant to have dinner for 20 people in June 2010. It's our parent's 50th anniversary so something nice - $15 to $20 a person. I'd prefer it not be a chain restaurant like Logan or Olive Garden. My Dad's 72 & thinks Spaghetti is "ethnic food" :) so no Mexican or Chinese either. They like ribs, chicken, steak -- Anything meat and 2 sides.

Thanks for your advise in advance!!

I do not know if you have found anything yet, but I would recommend the Haub House in Haubstadt. It is just north of Evansville. It is IMHO the best steak house in the area(they also have other meats). Entrees run between $13 - $30. http://www.haubhouse.com/

Thanks! The only idea I've been given so far is the Black Buggy but I understand that's a buffet and I've heard the food is great one time and bad the next depending on who's the cook that day. I'll check the Haub House out. Thanks again & keep the ideas coming.

Cork 'n Cleaver is good too. I would agree with Haub House (though pricey) and the Black Buggy suits most everyone. However, I heard yesterday that their original restaurant in Washington, IN has closed. Not sure about the Evansville location.

You might check out New Harmony which is not far. I recall a large location there if you need a nice restaurant.

Thank you all for your advise - We ended up having a reception at the church where they got married but got them gift certificates for many of the restaurants you recommended.

You can close this posting - the event has past.
