Taxis at United Center

Going to see CHI-MTL Friday night - with most arenas I find there is a 'better' place to look for taxis after a game or a direction to walk in where they are more plentiful. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Taxis after a UC event are daunting at best. Consider - http://www.transitchicago.com/bus/19/

I agree with the above and would also not walk far from UC, especially at night.

Walk three long blocks east on Madison to Ashland Ave., then four short blocks north to the green line elevated station. The route is full of other people who have been to the UC. Otherwise take the bus back downtown and start your trip home. Taxis will be very busy.

Unfortunately, the United Center is plagued by cab rustlers after the Blackhawks games. These are apparently some local men who don't actually need a cab ride. They run in every direction out from the United Center to hail cabs and then offer them to you in exchange for a tip - as if they have done you some service. It's very annoying. I agree with the advice to walk east on Madison or Monroe. By the time you get to Ogden, you should be able to hail your own cab. The CTA bus is OK, but you'll wait in a long line and still be stuck in local game traffic when you finally board the bus.

yes you can walk directly east all the way back to downtown. Or stop at some of the watering establishments on the way.
