New Year's Eve

Looking for something to do on New Year's Eve, hubby is not into the club scene. Looking for a more intimate setting. Any suggestions?

Your husband is not in to the club scene. What does he consider the club scene: 30 somethings on a drinking binge, gentlemen's clubs or cigar rooms? What does he like: jazz, piano bar, fine dining, beer and hot wings, comedy club, female impersonator? There are a lot of choices and we don't know him.?

It's too early to see who's offering what for NYE.

After 12/1 - check out http://chicago.metromix.com/ to see what's being offered.

Your choices will mostly to buy some kind of package at a bar, restaurant or nightclub. I would find a restaurant you would like to eat at and see if you can get reservations. Don't waste time or money on navy pier or hotel ballroom parties they are awful and mostly traps for tourists and people from the suburbs. On about Jan 3rd this board will fill up with people complaining about the expensive party package they bought at Excalibur or wherever; how it was overcrowded, overpriced, undeserved and a rotten time.

NYE is commonly referred to as "amateur night" most city dwellers find a good house party.
