Here's the deal. Cheap to mod is unknown on 'the island'. U need to venture to the west side. That being said, for your geographic req I'd start at singer island. Sailfish marina. 2
Drunk goats. Heading south u hv the tiki bar. Then it's hit and miss til u hit del ray and the strip. U r better off hvg fun in north palm, palm beach gardens or Jupiter.
If you are on Singer island, Two Drunken Goats(okay), or it's sister restaurant Johnny Long Boats(in my opinion-better food).
Along the intracoastal water way-not ocean, BUT beautiful from Singer to West Palm Beach are Tiki Bar and Grill, and also E.R Bradleys(downtown).
Going back over to the ocean between Lake Worth Beach and Lantana Beach are a few little dives w/ great food. At Lake Worth Beach is Bennys on the Beach(big dive, but great food and right on the Lake worth peir-totally locals). There is also Mulligans on the Lake Worth Beach Strip as well. It is decent, and a lot newer.
Heading just south of Lake Worth is the Dune Deck Cafe located on Lantana Beach, and it is also a dive w/ wonderful food. Very local. I love it!
All the above are all moderately priced.
I will say if you go back over to the intracoastal side, there also some great waterfront restaurants on the intracoastal. One of my favorites in Lantana is the Old Key Lime House. If you have time, check it out! Unfortuantely the bridge is under constrauction now, so to get to if on A1A, you would have to go back over to mainland from Lake Worth Beach,a nd then head south on US1 to the Ocean Blvd.
Enjoy your stay.
