Girls Trip to West Palm Beach in January - HELP NEEDED:)

We're in the beginning stages of planning an trip to West Palm Beach this January 3 - 6 and I have no idea where to start. Having never been there, I would love some help with these questions -

1. Best hotel/resort to stay at in January? ($300+/night budget)

2. Best location to look for a hotel/resort?

3. What to do in January?

4. Best restaurants?

5. Best shopping?

6. Any other recommendations/suggestions?

This is my friend's first holiday without her mom and we want to make it a special trip. Thanks for your help!

Just to clarify, is your budget OVER $300/night for hotel (you have a + sign)? You are coming at the height of the season, and some of the best hotels are extremely expensive at that time. One of our unique signature hotels is The Breakers on Palm Beach where accommodations can run several hundred dollars per night. If you want a hotel on the beach, Palm Beach is the place to look.

However, across the bridge, you might consider the West Palm Beach Marriott or Hyatt Place West Palm Beach, as they are walking distance to the great restaurants and shopping on Clematis Street and at CityPlace. They are all decked out for the holidays and I'm sure the trees, lights, and decorations will still be there the beginning of January (at least I'm hoping). I couldn't even pick out the best of anything because I love it all, and it depends on your taste - what you like to eat, etc. There's also outdoor entertainment. It's all there! And many new restaurants are expected to open very soon.

Enjoy, it should certainly be a very special trip!

Another option would be to look on Singer Island, which is right North of West Palm Beach, and has several lovely hotels directly on the beach. All have lovely ttiki bars!

Check out the Hilton on Singer island:

The Resort on Singer Island:

Palm Beach Shores Resort on Singer Island:

(this is a timeshare rental, and many times there is a vacancy for hotel stays).

Th beaches are outrageous on Singer. Singer Island itself has several good beachy restaurants. In addition, from the Sailfish Marina on Singer, you can catch a water taxi to downtown WPB. You can party there, then get the taxi back(just pay attention to running times). It will drop you off directly on Clematis street.

From Clematis, you can also catch a trolly to and from City Place, which is a must do at least once.

If Singer island is not your thing, the previous suggestions about the Hyatt downtown, and the Breakers$$$$$ on Palm Beach, are both excellent choices.

Have fun. The weather is great that time of year!

First, rent a car. This area does not have the best public transportation. This will also allow you to get to areas other than downtown. Also, call the Sailfish Marina to see if the water taxi is operational (561-683-8294); the marina is on the intercostal and out a 1/2 mile walk from the Hilton on Singer Island.

Personally, I would stay on Singer Island if a ocean view and the beaches your objective. The best shopping is on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach (think Rodeo Drive) and Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens.
