Boardwalk

I was looking into Treasure Island for a family vacation with small kids. We like boardwalks to walk up and down and access dining and shops. Can someome tell me How long is boardwalk? Are there shops and restaurants/hotels close enough to walk to?

The beach trail behind the Bilmar is not a typcial boardwalk. The Bilmar has two restaurants adjoiing the trail; Sloppy Joe's and Bazzie's Beach Bar. The other establishments and shops are across Gulf Blvd. The best boardwalk in the area is John's Pass which is only a mile north and has about 100 shops, restaurants and a variety of boating options. They have ample parking but there is also a "Free Beach Ride" that takes guests there and you only tip the driver. It will also take you to Corey Ave 2.5 miles south which features nice shops and eateries. Treasure Island and the Bilmar are very centrally located to both.
