Restaurants Siesta Key

SRQ girl need your help. We want to go to the "Locals" restaurants down there. We live on Hilton Head and are always pleased to let our tourists know our local hang outs. We hate going to "tourists restaurants." Thanks girl

Just like everywhere else, the "locals" like different places..so..

what types of foods do you enjoy? formal or more casual? that would help with ideas.

Many places I like are very busy this time of year....after the snowbirds leave it's alot easier to get a table.

Most "locals" places are on the mainland rather than on Siesta Key.but .I like the Sun Garden for breakfast,

Ophelias on the Bay for atmsophere, Jo-To for Japanese, Javier's all on Siesta

It's also a matter of opinion..

Mainland places:

Owens Fish Camp in downtown Sarasota is unique. Olde FL cuisine and atmosphere.

Libby's Cafe on Osprey Ave.

Bangkok for Thai.

New place on the N. Tamiami Trail called Yummy House has great Chinese..

The Table Creekside on S. Tamiami Trail good food..

Captain Brians on the N. Tamiami Trail

Breakfast House for breakfast Fruitville Rd.

Darwin's on 4th downtown Sarasota

Half Shell Oyster House downtown Sarsota

Mozzarella Fella downtown Sarasota

Michael's on East

Bijou Cafe

Vizen- excellent Japanese (Gulf Gate area; lots of locals places)

many more...

Love the "Gulf Gate" area for local dining choices.

Dolce Italia is a favorite spot for homemade pasta dishes...........love Il Panificio for thin crust Pizza.

Great bakery choices and a good number of ethnic groceries in the area as well.

Our favorite German market is Geier's down on "41".... Not far from SK.

Wow thanks so much. We are coming the first week in May so hopefully the snow birds will have left by then. This is so helpful.

And thanks for the two other websites.

Chinese, Italian, comfort food. Is Ophelia s worth the $$$$$. We were there 2 yrs ago and it was not that great for the $90 tab. We would like to go out for one nice romantic dinner.

Not sure if Ophelia's is worth the money...the atmosphere is fabulous.

We sometimes go for a few drinks and appetizers..if we aren't that hungry.

I know it's short notice; just arrived in siesta key. Any place you can recommend (siesta key or mainland) for Easter brunch on March 31st. Any advice would be much appreciated. Would reservations be necessary?

Yes, reservations are a must. It is very crowded here and many people will go to Easter Brunch.

Places like Libby's Cafe, Mattisons, Flemings, Cafe L'Europe, the Table Creekside, Ophelia's, Duvlas, Patricks 1481, etc.

Not certain if you are looking for a huge Easter Buffet with dozens of dishes......or a simple place to enjoy a lovely breakfast. If it is the latter....Check out Millies

A lovely Dining room with tasty offerings. Nothing fancy or over the top. It is a popular spot....
