4 days at helmsley Sandcastle

Will be staying at this hotel next week.Plan to go into St. Armands circle and need suggestions as to bars/restaurants. We know about the Cojumbia. Looking for other restaurants and also quiet bar type of places. We are two couples in our 50;s and enjoy drinking but not being in crazy atmosphere. Suggestions are appreciated.

Will you have a car?

The Haye Loft at Euphmia Haye (upscale restaurant) might work for you. It is on Longboat Key.

There are a few places with music/bar on St. Armands. While you are there you can look at places during the day.

There are some nice places on Longboat and downtown Sarasota...

We're at the Helmsley now. Beach is fantastic. Went to St. Armands last night. Tons of restaurant choices.

As suggested, Haye Loft is very nice, though perhaps a bit distant unless you're planning to eat in the vicinity on Longboat.

Very close to you is the Tiki Bar on the beach at the Lido Beach Resort; the Lido Beach Resort also has a nice, quiet bar on their top floor -- nice views; it's next to their fancy dining room (Lido Grille).

On St. Armands, maybe Shore Diner would suit you.

If you go downtown, I like the bars at The Bijou and also at Eat Here.

Tommy Bahama has a nice bar although it's inside,

it does draw a quieter crowd. I dont think any place on St Armands has crazy atmosphere. Except maybe the Daquiri Deck and that would be after 10 pm, not crazy just younger.
