Sarasota Keys

Hi everyone

We are three retired old buddies heading to Sarasota second week in October. We would like to stay on any of the Keys ideally a clean motel and within ten/ fifteen minutes walk of a good bar. All suggestions very welcome.

Many thanks

Siesta Key, lido key might work. HI on Lido is a few mins walk to bars and restaurants on St Arrmands- i had a good happy hour at Tommy bahamas in April.

SK you want either walking distance to the Village area where the bars are, but there is a free trolley if you end up a little further down.

How much did you want to spend per night on the motel? How many rooms? How many nights?

What kind of bar? Siesta Key has many in the Siesta Village area.

Capt. Curts is a popular spot. Not in the Village but there are more motels to choose from by the beach.

There is a free trolley to get you to the Village..so no problem.

Lido Key (St. Armands) is more upscale, so I don't think it would be as much fun.

Need more info.

Siesta Key is a lazier, more bar-friendly. Depends on what you want. Lido is more upscale. Siesta is a younger crowd, more live music.

>>around $80 - $100 for a room<< I very much doubt that price range exists today .... maybe 40 years ago.

Maybe 80-100 a piece?? I am not sure you would find anything for that price range on Siesta, Lido and certainly not Longboat Key. Maybe look into a small airbnb?

I think Siesta Key fits the bill, except for your budget. Maybe check into VRBO or Air bnb.

How long do you plan to stay? makes a difference.

How many guys? rooms? You may be able to rent something with 3 bedrooms and split the cost..

Very hard to find something under $100 these days. Need more info.
