Fun place to stay for Christmas Week?

2 adults and 2 grown daughters are looking at a Christmas Week visit in the South Walton Beach or Grayton Beach or Santa Rosa Beach area.

It's all about the beach-front cottage or condo or resort room. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Budget? Do you prefer house or condo? Two bedroom? Any preferences as far as being walking distance to restaurants and shops or would you rather be a little more secluded?

Thanks for the reply, Suma.

We do prefer a house ... with direct access to the beach. At least 2 bedrooms, but we have no problem with having unused bedrooms if more. Budget is $3000 for the 7 nights or less. We like to walk -- even a mile or two for a meal -- but we will also have a car. Internet is a must, wireless or not.

Tonight I found a rivardnet.com property called "Mount Joy" in Seagrove Beach area that looks promising. Sunny, colorful.

All help will be appreciated, Suma!

Have you checked VRBO or Homeaway? Most gulf front houses will say "gulf front" or "beach front" in their title so you can sort by number of bedrooms and then just read through the headings to find a gulf front with at least two bedrooms.

And, of course, there are many property management companies that can assist you. I suggested VRBO and Homeaway because you can sometimes get better deals through the owners. But you should be able to get a very nice rental within your budget.
