Sunrise---Sunset

Next Sunday, I will be leaving Daytona Beach and heading to Sanibel Island..since I will be on both coasts in the same day--I decided to do the bucket list of watching the sunrise on the East Coast and watch it set on the West Coast.

I have checked the sunrise charts and it seems that the sun will rise around 7:15 am. Where would you recommend watching it rise? It doesnt have to be in Daytona..since I am traveling that day.

And where should I watch the best sunset in Sanibel--I'm staying at the Island Inn

Head up to Captiva Island and watch the sunset from either Blind Pass @ Turner beach or head further up to the village of Captiva and join the crowd as they applaud the setting sun. The position of the Island allows you to actually see the sun lower into the gulf waters. Gorgeous!

The sunrise is usually better if you can see it rise over the ocean. So anywhere that you can stop and see the horizon on the Atlantic ocean would be ok.

If you're an early bird, detour out to Canaveral National Seashore and watch it from the best pristine beach on the east coast

For next Sunday, the 13th, Cape Canaveral has sun rise @ 6:58. Here's a chart:

Coco Beach is right there too. Easy shot over to Orlando area if you are going that route. There's a really good breakfast place near by, think it's called Delicious Cafe or something, kids loved the french toast, great omelettes too!
