My husband and I are staying on Captiva third week of October for our 25th anniversary. Any advice of restaurants to try or avoid? We like plain good food...nothing fancy required for us. Steaks (cooked to specifications), seafood, soups and sandwiches, maybe a good place to get ice cream, and breakfast baked goods.
We've never been here before. Usually our shore trips (with kids) have been to Ocean City Maryland. There we enjoy the Kohrs custard (soft ice cream on the boardwalk) and ribs and steaks at Nick's, as well as seafood like steamed crabs , scallops , and cream of crab soup. ..This is just to give you an idea of our tastes, we are looking forward to trying new things.
My only real pet peeves are 1, having my medium rare steak overcooked 2. restaurants that leave the tails on the shrimp when you are eating something like shirimp scampi and not a peel and eat with cocktail sauce and most importantly...I like my hot foods HOT and my cold foods COLD.
Thanks for any suggestions in advance!
