holiday inn express area safe?

Thinking of spending the night at the Holiday Inn Express at 54th off of 275. Is this a safe area at night? Thanks.

Yes, it is a safe area. Not a particularly interesting or scenic part of St Pete, but if you are just looking for a place to sleep, it will work for you. :-)

We often stay at this hotel when attending Rays ballgames down at The Trop. It is typical HI. Clean and comfortable, with a frendly staff, and we've never been concerned about our safety there.

As Maya said though, the location is not one where you would find any reason to be out walking the streets. If you are just passing through though, it's a good place to "crash" for a night. The property is right off the exit from I-275, and a real easy in -and- out.

the area to the east of the hotel is primarily residential, but it's great location to pop onto 275 for going downtown for games or whatever. go north, and you'll be in tampa in 20 minutes.

note that there is a cracker barrel just across 54th avenue from the hotel, which you may find handy...
