The Beach Pit

We went to sgi for the first time last year and are coming back in June to get married on the beach. Can't wait!!!!! One question though...we love the blue parrot and some other places to eat and have drinks but when we were there last year the firehouse#9 restaurant was there and since has closed and "the beach pit" has taken its place. Any word on how it is? How's the food and drinks? Atmosphere there?

We ate dinner there over Spring Break the first week of April. We went there because the other restaurants were very crowded with a long wait. The food was good....I had blackened shrimp. The atmosphere is not on par with Blue Parrot or Harry's...we ate on the outside covered patio on picnic tables. No draft beer, only bottles. Overall it's not my first choice at St. George, but it was all right.

heres a link for SGI restaurants on TA tripadvisor.com/Restaurants-g34602-St_George…

The Oyster Bar has a little nicer setting and service, and the view at sunset is incredible--its gets lower ratings because its higher priced than Parrott--id say food is almost as good, service may be a bit slower, but fewer young kids
