The Holidays in St. Augustine

We have decided to visit St. Augustine the weekend after Christmas. Is this a good time? Does this make staying in the historic area more desirable? Also, does it create a preference on whether to stay at a hotel or a B&B? What would be the most desirable part of the historic area to stay in?

Go to booking.com or hotels.com, plug in your dates and you will be shown what's available. You will always be able to find parking even if its the municipal garage at the north end of the historic district.

There are a very limited number of parking spaces on the streets near the plaza, but a better bet might be the large parking garage adjacent to the Visitor Information Center ( located at 10 S. Castillo Drive, St. Augustine 32084).

Thanks for the parking tips. We will check out the garage when we're in town.

The is always the welcome center lot. It has hundreds of slots and I think costs $10.00. It's at the north end of the city, but is walkable to everything. There is street parking, but it tends to fill up quickly and you would need a pocket full of quarters to continually feed the meters.
