Did you go on this Cruise? I am thinking about it for November this year when we stay in orlando.
We were in Florida in January and did take the Sun Cruz casino cruise from Port Canaveral. We were very disappointed. First of all, we wanted to take the cruise from the Daytona Beach area but they had just closed that cruise down. The Sterling Cruise had a problem and wasn't running that day. The cruise line did pick us up on a bus approx. 3 miles from where we were staying and returned us in the evening. With two cruises out of commission our cruise was filled to capacity - good for the cruise line, bad for its customers. It is like a real casino but on a much smaller scale. They only had slot machines. Since it was so crowded, it was difficult to get a machine and it was tight getting in and out of the areas. The buffet left a lot to be desired. It was windy and the boat swayed making it difficult to walk straight. The good points - we had a coupon for a free cruise and buffet and I did win $250 on a 25 cent machine.
Port Canaveral is approx. 1 hour from Orlando.
There are 2 companies here, soon to be a 3rd. Sun Cruz and Sterling who has the bigger boat. They both always have a good crowd so must be doing something right.
We went on the Sterling and enjoyed it. It is the largest boat of all the casino cruises we have been on. It's not like being in a Vegas casino, or a high-end cruise line, but the food is edible, the games are fun, and good drinks. The boat ride was fine with great views. I would recommend it if you are looking for this type of cruise. An hour, or just a little longer from Disney area.
