Perdido vs Okaloosa Island

My family usually vacatios in Okaloosa. We were hoping for a change in scenery. How do the two compare? Are beaches more crouded? Are there any shells? Anywhere to snorkel and see anything? Thanks!

Perdido is less crowded. No hotels though unless you head just across the state line into Alabama or stay inland. Call Perdido Realty and check on condos. Prices go down after Labor Day. Beaches are empty right now. Cool front arrived yesterday. Highs in low 80's nights are a cool. Just turned the ac off and opened the windows for first time since Spring. Note that while the shutdown is going on, you will not be able to visit the National Naval Aviation Museum, Forts, Federal Beaches or most anything connected with the Feds. But we still have fantastic beaches, great restaurants and other activities. I walked the beach today, (day after the storm (Karen) passed by. There were some shells. Water is very clear right now.
