Blue Angels

We will be in Perdido Key at the Eden the beginning of June this year and the Blue Angels will be practicing 2 of those days. Do they practice over the Key to where we can watch from our room or the beach or do you have to go to the Air Base?

You can sometimes see them from Johnson Beach which is on the eastern-most side of the Key, but it is much better from the Naval Base. Have a great vacation!

You can watch the Blue Angels practice in the Keys? Wow, the things you learn on this forum. I had no idea. Can anyone provide more details? Is there a designated place to watch a practice from?

There is a designated area to watch from at the Naval Air Museum.

Their practice schedule is at …navy.mil/schedules_iframe.htm#practice

We just returned from Perdido Key and went to the Navy base to watch the Blue Angels at 8AM with our 2 boys and it's definitely worth getting up early and going to the Navy base to watch. They do the full show and it's awesome. On certain days the pilots will sign autographs at the Navy museum after the show. Check their schedule online. There was a crowd waiting for autographs, so you may want to leave the air show a little early to head to the museum and get in line for an autograph if you have your heart set on one. We went to the museum after the show and didn't bother with the autographs because the line was so long, but there is a ton to do at the museum for all ages so we spent a couple hours there. You may want to take a lawn chair if you don't think you can stand for an hour to watch the air show. We didn't have one and it was fine. There is a small grand stand but it fills up quickly (unless you get there before 7:30) and you can really see the show from anywhere. The show starts at 8:30 am sharp and we got there around 8:15 which was fine, we just stood and watched the show. Plus, we had a head start getting back to the museum.
